How To Install a Suspension Lift Kit On Your Kawasaki ATV

1. Gather Tools and Supplies

In addition to the lift kit, you'll need some basic tools such as wrenches, sockets, pliers, and screwdrivers. Depending on the specific kit you choose, there may be additional tools required such as a torque wrench or spring compressor. Double-check the instructions provided with your lift kit to ensure you have everything necessary for successful installation.

2. Install the New Suspension

The front end of your vehicle is where the installation process begins. Start by lifting the front of the quad and taking off the wheels. Remove the brake fluid line attachment from the upper suspension arm and take out the lower shock bolt. Then, install the two bearing plates with the spacer sleeve in the original shock position. Proceed with installing the lower part of the damper. Finally, secure the brake fluid line with a cable tie. All that's left is to put the wheel back on.

Now, we move on to the rear lift installation. Lift the rear of the quad and remove the wheels. Remove the stabilizer bar's connecting rods, they won't be reused. Remove the upper fixing bolts of the rear shocks and install the bearing plates with spacer sleeves, ensuring they are correctly positioned in the plate's notches. Attach the shock absorber to the plates. Finally, install the lift kit's connecting rods to the stabilizer bar, it will require effort due to the angle caused by the lift kit. Put the wheels back on the quad. You should always follow the instruction manual provided with your kit, and if you do not feel confident changing it yourself, seek assistance from a professional. 

3. Adjust the Suspension Settings

Now that everything's securely installed, it's time to fine-tune your new suspension system by adjusting the settings to match your riding preferences. Keep in mind that different lift kits may require different adjustment procedures. For a lift kit with shock springs, you'll need to adjust the spring preload to set the ride height and stiffness of your ATV's suspension. On the other hand, if you've installed a lift spacer kit, you'll likely only need to adjust your factory shocks. 

Regardless of which type of lift kit you have installed, you must ensure that there is enough clearance between the tires and fenders. You don't want any rubbing or scraping while driving!
